UTB has been extremely responsive to our feedback and over the length of the project 2021-2022, we have grown to forge a pragmatic and strong partnership.
All staff that we have met within the period after the training are no longer using Outlook and have completely transitioned to Gmail and Google Calendar.
Eight staff completed the Google Bootcamp and have provided a core of expertise within departments able to support and share training in departments and they also have run breakfast sessions to teach specific skills.
We now have a strong, clear vision to underpin our decisions about infrastructure and programmes: To empower our akonga to be lifelong learners.
The result has been a broadening of learning across the school, with no decrease in engagement (instead, the numbers jumped from 22 participants in the first online boot camp to 56 in the second!).
The university president felt confident to move forward with her plans to decommission Moodle and use more Google tools.
After a keynote session, a series of rotating, interactive workshops were delivered both on-site and virtually, allowing plenty of time for collaboration and consolidation of learning, staff felt more confident and competent using the technology tools and agreed workflows.
