Is this a franchise? +
No. Trainer Alliance is a business ownership model, not a franchise. You retain full ownership of your business and your client relationships. There are no territory restrictions, no percentage of revenue paid back to UTB, and no head office dictating how you run your day. Members agree to a code of conduct and brand standards to protect the reputation everyone in the network benefits from. Beyond that, how you build your business is up to you.
Is this a job? +
No. You are not an employee of UTB. Trainer Alliance is a supported business ownership model. You run your own training business, set your own schedule, and keep full ownership of what you build. UTB provides the frameworks, brand, systems, and support. You provide the drive and the delivery.
What does it cost? +
The investment covers an initial onboarding fee and a monthly membership. The monthly fee gives you access to UTB's team, frameworks, tools, templates, and support. During the discovery call, we model out earning scenarios with you so the investment makes sense in the context of what a realistic training business looks like. We share the full breakdown at that stage.
What does the first 90 days look like? +
Onboarding follows a structured 90-day sprint. In that time, UTB gets to know your background, your strengths, and the kind of training you want to deliver. From there, the team helps you build a training package you can take to market, walks you through the sales and proposal process, and supports you on early client conversations. The goal by the end of the sprint is for you to be building your own pipeline, with some supplementary work passed through the UTB network as you get started. Supplementary work from the network is not guaranteed and is designed to support momentum, not replace your own business development.
I'm not confident with sales. Will that hold me back? +
This is one of the most common concerns people bring into the process, and it is exactly what Trainer Alliance is built to address. Most members come from education or training backgrounds, not sales. Mike himself spent years figuring out the sales and marketing side after leaving the classroom, and UTB's systems were built around that experience. You will be taught a proposal and sales process refined over years of delivery across the network. During your first 90 days the team will support you on live sales calls and help you put your first training package to market. You do not need to be a natural salesperson. You need to be willing to learn a process.
Who looks after advertising? +
Members receive resources, templates, and guidance to market their own services. UTB's support team can also assist with marketing campaigns as part of your membership, helping you get your name into market faster than you would starting from scratch.
Will I be competing with other UTB trainers for work? +
No. There are no territory restrictions and no internal competition for clients. Trainer Alliance is a network, not a competition. Larger contracts that come through UTB's global partner relationships are shared across the network from time to time, meaning membership can give you access to opportunities you would not have found independently. Building your own pipeline remains the primary goal.
I've been a teacher, not a business person. Can I actually do this? +
Yes, and you are closer to ready than you think. Mike was a classroom teacher before he built UTB. The ability to read a room, explain complex things clearly, and connect with adults in a learning environment is genuinely the hard part of training work, and you already have it. The business side, the marketing, the proposals, the client relationships, is learnable, and it is exactly what Trainer Alliance teaches. The system exists because Mike had to figure all of that out alone. You do not have to.
What if it turns out not to be the right fit? +
Trainer Alliance is a full ownership model. If you choose to exit, you retain your business and complete any active projects before doing so. This is not a situation where you walk away with nothing. What you have built remains yours.
What support do I get as a member? +
Members get access to UTB's team, delivery frameworks, proposal and sales systems, marketing support, and the full tool stack needed to run a training business. You can shadow UTB's training team, get support on sales calls and presentations, and access the broader member network. Support is structured to reduce the trial and error that comes with building a training business independently, and to shorten the time it takes to become confident and client-ready.
How long does it take before I'm ready to deliver? +
From signing your membership agreement to being ready for your first clients is approximately 100 days. That timeline is structured deliberately. The goal is not just to get you technically ready but to get you confident, clear on your offer, and supported through your first client conversations.
